I think back to when I was pregnant with my son and remember all the funny conversations my husband and I had. I’ll admit we were somewhat clueless but nevertheless, being pregnant was like no other. Fast forward 7 years and we found ourselves again eager with anticipation and joy. Expecting our second baby was a huge milestone for the both of us. I call Ella, “my labor of love”. Obstacles, hurdles and many emotions…all of which I feel shaped so much of who I am today. New life changes everything.
Jon and Tawnya spent one incredible afternoon with me at the beach. The light was just magical and their ability to just, “let go” captivated me in every which way. I truly feel like the images I captured were simply a glimpse into their love rather than a photo shoot. There is little doubt that Jon will be an amazing Father, after all he is one amazing Husband. And Tawnya radiates grace and this serene sense of calm; she will be such a patient Mommy.
((sigh))

It makes me wish I wasn’t the older sister of 4. ((sigh)) Truly, the bond is that unique! And Little Miss. B and Mister J, are quite the sweethearts. At our shoot, they were so well mannered and kind to each other. I’m certain their Mom would testify that not all their interactions are spent hugging and loving each other, but it’s rather clear…”that bond”…it’s there. Totally evident and honest. Boo to being a first born…ha!
I adored this shoot for so many reasons, partly because they were so willing to let me capture their sweet essence. And well, mostly because they really did enjoy being silly together. As a photographer, there is nothing more beautiful than just capturing tender moments…and believe me on this day, there were many!

He was bashful, quite the littlest ham and so freakin’ adorable. Total model and I’m not kidding when I say that. He has, “a look”.
And his cake smash? A total success!! His adorable monkey cake, was a labor of love from his Aunty and matches perfectly to his birthday theme.
(I sooo wish I could bake cakes like that!!)
After spending the morning with this cute little family, I’m certain his first birthday party will be quite the extravaganza!

Though Mikee is not looking forward to this change, I’m certain she’s going to be just fine!
P.S. If you think we were all silly and fun at this shoot, then you are mistaken….because during this shoot, Mikee and I discussed important serious matters like, “Twilight”. Yes, Twilight! We mutually agreed that New Moon was waaaay better than Twilight and that we couldn’t wait for Eclipse!
Oh, how I heart my Twilight Fans…lol.

I swear it feels like just yesterday, though I know it wasn’t. C-Tot (the nickname given to him by his Mommy) was just 4 months old and trying with all his might to hold his own bottle. He was just a little dude and now he’s quickly approaching his first birthday. I would be lying if I didn’t admit this makes me a little sad.
And while I’m being completely honest, I must also admit that my first photography related ’bout of tears came when I received an email thanking me for capturing these photos. There really are no words to explain how amazing it feels to be given the opportunity to share with others what I love so much…

I wouldn’t expect anything different from the little man that is my sister’s son!
Caleb is my world, as much as my kids are. He is the star in my beautiful night sky right after Isaac and right before Ella. His hugs are like no other and his kisses leave drool dripping from your cheek. While he can be quite the little goofball and fierce boxer, he is also the loveable sweetheart that makes my life so much more complete.

She’s also my son’s first sister, or so he says. It’s funny how fast time flies because I still remember holding Mia when she was a newborn baby dressed as an Angel’s Rally Monkey. Now she’s dressed as Dorothy, happily posing as a model and cuddling her little brother!
Julian was the most precious scarecrow. He definitely didn’t scare any crows, unless you consider winks and gummy smiles as scary?? Maybe next time, Julian!
My little models were perfection and it was so much fun being able to capture their little personalities on camera! ((Although it’s a shame I didn’t think to take any photos of their Dad! At some point I swear he was doing back flips to make Julian smile…hahahaha….Thanks J for making my job easier!)
